My wall of clean

Enjo…enjo enjo enjo….a cleaning we will go….
Recently, I got sucked into vortex of Enjo.  Enjo is this company that makes these products with revolutionary cleaning fibres that clean without chemicals.  Just like with Tupperware, it’s sold mainly through home demos.  The premise being that after you see it in action, you will love it enough to spend a considerable amount of money on these products.

Needless to say, I converted after the Enjo demo lady dampened this green fuzzy glove with water and proceed to remove ALL the sticky oil residue off my range hood by gently rubbing in a circular motion.  Now my mother will testify that I NEVER clean my range hood.  In fact she visits me a couple times a year from interstate and SHE cleans my range hood.  It was just way too much effort.

My other moment where I decided I would invest in the cleaning system was when the Enjo demo lady wiped and dried my kitchen taps and they gleamed at me.  I said “I want some of that.”

If I can see it, I will use it.
After spending a obscene amount of money of these products, I had to make sure I would use them – so of course my organising habit kicked in and a bunch of 3m sticky hooks went up and everything got laid out on the only spare wall left in the laundry next to the kitchen where most of the mess occurs anyway.

My 3 kids make a massive amount of mess.  Hand feeding kids is one of the most tedious tasks known to man.  Right up there with doing my taxes – so I put up with the mess if it means I don’t have to fall into a coma watching my kids digest food.

Having my cleaning products all racked up and viewable at a glance means other people can also pitch in the help clean.  There is also the added benefit of having the fibres air dry.

No more smelly cloths
I don’t know why, but things that are obvious, aren’t, until someone else points them out. I now wash my cleaning cloths at least once a week in the washing machine.  I bought enough so that I can change my cloths 3 or 4 times a week.  Prior to this, I was soaking my cheapie cleaning cloths in bleach and for a time I was also throwing them in the microwave (wet with water – not bleach) for 2 minutes.  and they would still smell mildewy quite quickly.  Now being machine washed at least once a week and hung out in the sun, my cloths are lovely and clean with no need for cleaning chemicals.

Dry it.  You’ll like it.
Obvious cleaning tip number 2 – DRY your surface after wiping it down.  I tell you it has made cleaning so much more satisfying or at least worthwhile.  My surfaces gleam.  Not only does it feel clean, it looks clean.  Leaving your surfaces damp, means bacteria has a better environment to hang out. And you miss out on the “satisfying” part of cleaning.  The (insert ding sound) aha moment.

Now the “anal” tip – is to dry your kitchen sink after washing it down for the night.  When I first read this on the fly lady’s blog – I thought no freaking way am I drying my sink. But once I tried it out a couple of times my sink felt and looked properly clean.  This also means I throw my tea towels into the wash more regularly.

Oh wow your house must be so clean.
Bwaahahahah.  NO.  just because I bought a truckload of cleaning stuff and wrote a whole post on it flinging out tips does not mean my house is open for inspection or open heart surgery clean.  But it does mean WHEN I cannot stand the dirt anymore, it takes me minutes per area to do the job.

Disclaimer: I was not sponsored or paid in any way for this post.  Although I am totally open to it. ;0)  I only write it up like I see it though.

Hi! I was googling ENJO and found your blog! Congrats on your new business venture and blogging venture too. As a recent convert to ENJO myself (I also signed up as a consultant immediately) I was excited to see your first post is about ENJO : ) ENJO fibres will be great to polish up your laser cut work too. You probably figured that out already!

Ha, I love Enjo products too and only had my first Enjo products since months ago and recently purchased a few more items (including the mop) after my local Enjo lady demonstrated in my house and I was also like, wow, I want such quick cleaning for top results in a few minutes’ time.

My next mission is to train my kids to always pack away what they took out, and be willing to pack away toys/ books even if someone else made the mess.

Then next goal after is to train them to happily help with cleaning. Already bought the kids Enjo kitchen gloves. Not sure if that is too ambitious, but got to have some vision and goals to get even halfway there.

Training the kids to put away what they take out? Ambitious but a worthy goal. Wait til I write my post on chucking out toys that annoy you so much you cannot stand to have it in the house a second longer. :0)
